There is something reassuring about standing for something, and knowing what we stand for.
For men and women who are true to themselves and to the virtues and standards they have
personally adopted, it is not difficult to be true to others.

Santa's Ark

Eliot got a Fisher Price Noah's Ark for Christmas, and now that he's excited about saying animal names and sounds, it's one of his favorite toys to play with. He loves to pick up the animals and declare "Yi-yah!" (lion) or make a trumpet sound through his lips for the elephant. So I was running through each of the animals with Eliot today and asking him, "What's this?" or "What does the _____ say?". I realized we've mixed up some concepts, though, when I picked up Noah and Eliot said, "Ho, ho, ho!" Almost . . . but not quite. Add to the story that I had literally just read about Noah in the scriptures this morning, and the irony of it all has me thinking I'm never going to think of Noah and his ark in the same light again.

Hee hee!! Did I tell you about our friends' Sean and Robyn's little boy who sees any picture of a man with a white beard, and in a low, gangsta (mind you, he's 1) voice, exclaims: "He say 'ho!'" I think Noah could appreciate Eliot's sentiment. His ark set has the textured animal ears, right? I'm trying to decide between that set and the good 'ole plastic that can go in the tubby.
